Jinju and Doyeon's relationship is far more complicated than everyone think. Doyeon meet the criteria of having severe depression, and even before this, bottling your feelings inside (happiness, sadness or anger) was really damaging for someone's mental health. Her being an orphan and being a replacement for someone dead is bad enough already, you can also look at her image as someone who's almost 'perfect' (Beautiful and smart). Creating this image of perfection caused her a lot. And it's being self-destructing inside. Loving Jinju is her only salvation, but what can she do if the person she's so down bad with, is half her age, already married, and an undecided and self-depricating adult?
Jinju, on the other hand, is suffering from being incompetent, lack of confidence, insecurities, and now after experiencing violence from loan sharks, PTSD. She's like a bird who's been caged for a long time and now that the door of that cage is already open, she won't leave. Because she's so used of being caged and she's unconsciously comfortable of being the friend of sadness, desperation, and rock bottom. She also lost her authenticity due to her pedophile husband manipulation. She didn't listen to her parents. She believed in love. And where does the 'love' brought her? More trauma. What Jinju missed is how different Doyeon is from her husband. A lot of panels showed how brave, courageous, and sacrificing Doyeon is. Her love is so sure and firm. And yet, Jinju doesn't see that, or atleast, ignored it. She will always question Doyeon's feelings and intentions because deep inside her, she unconsciously don't love herself enough to free herself from her husband. How can you love someone who doesn't believe in love in the first place? And how could you love someone who doesn't love themselves.
Simple answer: these are aaall recipes for a tragic ending. (I hope not. But really, with the story going on like this, it's already tragic enough lol)
My take? I'm still rooting for them. I still think that both of them can make it. They both need a fuckin therapy tho. (atleast after solving their problem of getting rid of that asshole coward husband)
