I kinda agree. It's frustrating whenever they're about to corner her again like in her previous life. But I understand why they're short-sighted. They're all at the center of the chaos and it seems none of them had a moment to step away to think things through.
The bishy-bish-bish-bish was too full of herself and also blinded by her greed. She thinks she's better than anyone else to think that someone could outsmart her. FL's regression that we know of was not a factor known to them so that variable wasn't included in bishy's schemes. People like her would take the easiest way to satisfy their desires and evil deeds is way easier than doing good deeds.
FL is not an op character like all the regressed MCs in other RoFan of the same trope. She's originally a good natured lady raised in a flower field until a storm she was never trained to handle, grazed through her life. The information she have from her previous life was also little. They're not enough for her to think ahead, and because she only knew as much, factors that weren't available to her previously are popping up since she's now actively getting involved. She's not originally cunningly smart, so she's still getting a hang of it.
The only power she had was her knowledge and how to play her cards, besides that she only have her family rank but it's not useful enough since it looks like her family wasn't really favored in court by the emperor. Since it's FL's first rodeo in regression, it's like she's feeling things up in the dark and dealing with them as she goes cuz that's all she could do at the moment.
Her family, although feared and was considered powerful, they're no different from a defanged and declawed lion. They didn't exactly have the power to protect themselves from their enemies' schemes. Everyone's singling them out because of their specific reasons. Just shows their family has weakened over generations.
Her brother was a fool indeed. Despite his sister's warning he went 'Imma see for myself' and got deceived. He was like his sister before the regression. They put their trust in people's good faith too much. For that matter they were being naive. And he himself admitted that at some point he had a feeling he was being used but denial is a river, so for that part he was really stupid yet pitiful cuz bish exploited his trauma. I bet she also used her foresight to paint him a scenario just to get him fooled. People exploiting your weakness without you knowing are one of the vilest manipulators.
In conclusion, I think the author wanted them to act in the arising situations the same way normal people would, react in ways according to their actual and limited point of view. They could portrayed it better though, if that's what they're really going for.(๑•ㅂ•)و✧
