I mean sure you can say its not even the same story anymore cuz it strays so far off from the og story but what if its a masterpiece in its own right? Just not our masterpiece.
But also on the other hand, if they were gonna do it like this they should of just completely renamed it and said it was 'referenced' off orv. I don't know why the called it an adaption but changed the entire thing. Imo it doesn't truly represent and a lot of us are left disappointed cuz we expected smt more. but I wouldn't say it ruins the story, just more like make a new one (unless it actually turns out shit and stains orv's name)
