Why is the novels ending sad? Can you please spoil me?
Well...
Ray went back to his kingdom, became an emperor, got married and had an heir. He and the ml still maintained their relationship and slept with each other, but they basically didn't end up together. Ending the story with them having a happy ending would be ideal, but although the ending was bittersweet, I think it made sense why it happened. After all, they were both emperors then.
Ooh what happened to eddie? Did he actually poison him???
I kinda get why the manhwa ends like that. If they followed the novel, a lot of people wouldn't like it. But still, this ending is no better imo. If they wanted this to end differently, they should've done it better.
Anyway, I think I prefer the novel's just so I can read this when I feel sad and make myself sadder.
