S/A in stories sometimes could pull strong Negative feeling such as hatefulness, but sometimes they pull strong sadness, but one thing for sure i dont like it.
i agree, i don’t like how it’s included in stories in a way of the ml does it to the mc and then the mc is expected for forgive the ml.. like it doesn’t make sense.
Was the manhwa 2020? I was so disappointed when they threw in that rape scene.
Even if ML wanted to make Mc hate him, its still bad since he could just pull it out by faking he has new lover, break up with him, leaving without saying, having someone.
omg yes! the story was hilarious and i liked the dynamic of the ml & mc but the s/a scene literally threw me. like why would he do that?? makes no sense, and then we’re seeing how the mc is traumatized but they’re obviously gonna be together in the end. just makes me sad, another good story being thrown away bcuz for some reason the author put a s/a scene
it depends on the reason why its there. i hate it when its there for shits and giggles or glorifying it. but if it is about development or story telling, i dont mind. my favorite portrayal of it is in ouroboros：ウロボロス ! as a victim it can be tiring considering how much of SA is in these stories and theyre practically unavoidable. but if writers can learn how to use it with meaning for these characters, itd be better.
i totally agree, using s/a just cuz makes me sad cuz why are you glorifying or making a horrible situation acceptable :/ but yeah, using it for development + story telling is acceptable, still makes me sad but in a “wow i know how this character feels” type of way
I personally find it repulsive. Esp in stories that are categorised as “romance”. I can never understand how any amount of grovelling can undo the trauma caused but logic ig? I mean if its explicitly mentioned I cannot whine about it because I chose to read it. But for some stories (jinx and roses & champagne for example) there is literally no mention about the rape. It’s randomly there for no apparent reason and it doesn’t even contribute to the plot
jinx is actually the worst story in history omg, i hate jaekyung and then ONLY reason i’m still reading it (after skipping basically all of s1) is because i’m supporting dans rebellion arc and champagne & roses was one of my favorites before the whole..shoot him s/a him thing.. literally stopped being interested even tho i love caesar. shit just be pissing me off like y’all have a good story but fuck it up last minute and FOR WHAT?!
i hate it. if im reading a new story and there's SA, im immediately dropping that sht even if the comments argue that it gets better.
i avoid most of the trending manhwas in the homepage since most of them has SA, idk why they're the most popular ones
i dont like SA in stories. like i am trying to read something new but everything that i read starts off with rape or some shit. it's getting really annoying and how the story just romanticizes stuff like that. now that i think of it, almost every single one of the new bl manhwas that have been coming out all have it.
