Like i read spoilers for the novel version.. But in comparison (personal pov) i think so far i love how this is going.. Because Cliff actually have to suffer consequences not just in term of losing his love as in the novel but also his legitimacy as the future duke due to his action as an heir candidate.. The way Killion is not straight up jump to the opportunity but said he needed guidance kinda give a more grounded reason why the change in duke heir is a reasonable outcome.. Aahh.. I hope i am not jinxing this.. But so far im loving the change of plot in the ending arc

Weeeeell, I don't know. Cliff left so easily, it seems all he wanted was to find the author and he got to do so. It didn't seem like he cared about his position at all because he abandoned it so quickly...

For me, it is actually the opposite of suffering for him! If he had to stay while his love disappeared somewhere unreachable (like when he went to the battlefield), then that would be a punishment. But here, she disappears and he just follows as he wishes. He even smiled when he did it I believe...

Hm.. I see ur point why( suffer the consequences) wasn't quite the ideal word to describe.. I mean like he abandoned his duty therefore unqualified to be tbe future duke.. And he actually got that right taken away from him instead of it still being his like in the novel.. So that was my interpretation of (suffer the consequences).. At the same time like i said i understand that it is not a literal (suffer the consequences) as he can be seen smiling and did not care for his punishment for his only goal is to get the author Reeze..on that end, im not sure to say how i feel about it.. Like if he literally suffer and got lost in a void as he entered the gate in search of author Reeze for eternity and never getting to find her, is quite a good outcome too.. But if he ended up finding her and the two messed up couple end up (happily ever after) together, well maybe im ok with that too as long as they stop ruining other people's live

I personally want them to regret the consequences of their actions! So I wouldn't be satisfied with their happy ending. But who knows what will happen since the author is with the past Ediths...
