He's using the round-snap method where you slice a piece then lift the knife in an angle to snap the piece you sliced off and it takes off a chunk, BUT WHY TF WOULD YOU DO THAT FOR AN APPLE, I DO THAT TO GET RID OF BAD SPOTS ON THE POTATO NOT FOR CASUAL SLICING
