So i read the novel spoilers only, turns out mom is the one who told and basically sold FL to the emperor that FL is a… Primera (i forgot what they’re called, but those who have really high powers etc.) the mom has an agreement with emperor that her son will not be sent to the war. So in the first timeline, she sold FL to emperor, and didn’t tell the dad (so dad thought FL really died). Err there’s a lot of spoilers I was kinda lost too, but main point is the mom only cared for her son only (her child from her new marriage) both first and present timeline but at the end her family felt disgusted when they found out that she murdered people, blah blah. Like readers highlighted she don’t care about FL
I was expecting for her to be nice since most manhwa moms are dead but damn that was bad

Nahh I feel like the mom told the emperor about them leaving because she’s sure the emperor won’t be able to find them. And she took that for granted and saved his other kid. Probably…
