I thought I was alone for thinking like this. I feel bad for Edward and I still dislike the Queen because she acts like that towards a child who has done nothing Every time I see her, I remember that slap from first chapters that she gave him...
True. I understand where she's coming from, but she also acts childish blaming it all on a child who's done nothing to her. If she's really that mad, then why not confront Edward's mom? Slap the King... Yet no, she chose the easy target and a weak child to infuse some trauma on him. Not knowing that whatever she's doing to Edward, is exactly what's happened to her. The King neglect her. Both of them neglect a child. Jeoffrey's her child so he's the only one who can be taken care of... what about Edward?? He's also a child. I just can't with this... and some readers of this are so blinded by the pain of the Queen, enough to take her side, that just shows how people are so quick to pick side and not thinking of other things like the abuse on Edward.
I'm not saying they shouldn't sympathize with what she's been through.... I just hope they don't turn a blind eye by the fact that a child does not deserve this kind of abuse and trauma.
Everyone's giving their take on what the King did to the young Queen. Yeah, she doesn't deserve all the negligence of her own husband. And about the King's lover. I understand how some of y'all pity the Queen and taking her side. For me, I don't think she really needs to treat Edward like that, he's just a kid and just like the Queen, this kind of treatment and negligence, he doesn't deserve it. Whatever his mother did to the Queen or the King did, Edward should not pay the price for the adults mistake.
It's not his fault that he was born from an affair... Honestly, I'm reacting like this cause I saw one comment here, saying that should the Queen really give Edward anything?? He was the result of some affair.
We can all say what we want about the Queen, she got isolated with no one in her side, and we now understood why she's acting like this especially around Jeoffrey. But at least, as a legal wife and a parent, she could be a bit nice same goes for the King. They could at least be the grown up they are and act as a parent. Don't take her anger on the poor kid. I get it, we all get it, the Queen's got her reason for her actions but that doesn't justify all that she's doing to Edward.
