And like… the childhood encounter… it just breaks my heart even more cause the only reason mc has been living this shit life is cause he saved ml’s life giving him all his luck, and yet this asshole is here tryna kill himself…
And the encounter is used as an “ohh they met as kids so now their romance starts” as artificial sincerity points except it feels cheap cause without the childhood scene. All throughout the story ml didn’t even feel a drop of empathy towards mc let alone friendship or love, at most he pitied him, called blond guy an asshole (not even as a “siding with mc” thing, just calling things as they are way), and jumped in to protect mc a few times which also doesn’t mean shit since he generally accidentally does it for anyone anyway and he’s probably hoping to get hurt in their place anyway…
It’s like finding out you and your coworker were kindergarten friends and suddenly it changes everything in your relationship as if you’ve known and loved each other your whole life or smth… feels cheap

Same wih hart tbh, how much of a selfish ass could he be, literally not a single moment of consideration of what he’s gonna make his friends and especially mc feel by his plan, not even talking about just the suicide attempt and how it’d affect them, but actually planning to leave mc feeling like he assisted him with killing himself? Like he didn’t have enough shit going on in his life he also needs a lifelong trauma of feeling like he helped the guy he loves kill himself? And he didn’t even reconsider the several times he had opportunity to, when the bestie asked what he’d do if jasper wasn’t useful to him anymroe, or when mc was all happy and thankful to him all he felt was detached pity and the tiniest bit of guilt no feelings of friendship or love
And the bestie also was SO quick to cut ties when that psycho bully was messing with mc, and even now when blond guy was doing the exact same, she COULD have noticed something off and push to get the truth out when mc asked to fake having had a fight in front of blond guy and she still ignored the signs and kept on looking at the blond guy as a guy he talks to with no suspicion whatsoever
Mc deserves so much better than all of these people like DAMN, ever since ml’s diary was revealed I sobbed so bad for mc like aaaaaaaa
