I haven't read the other story yet, just this one. But why are people defending a rap*st?...

Its cuz the other story explores Jinwoo's life. Makes it harder to hate him. Also I wouldn't exactly defend Jinwoo's actions. But I don't like Minjae too. Or maybe this story is not written as good as the other one ╮(￣▽￣)╭

I read the other story and .... I just don't understand people calling Minjae jealous of Jiwoo or saying he was ungrateful... like did we read the same story? Jiwoo's flashbacks show clearly how he was never clear/honest with Minjae about his feelings, and then one day he got tired and left (dating his brother was awesome? not really, but that's not a sin either).

There relationship was not perfect from the beginning so whatever Minjae did was not wrong whatsoever. But Minjae WAS jealous of Jinwoo. Its not explicitly stated. I don't remember if it is there in this story.... but in DYSLM, there was this scene where Jinwoo was ranting to Minwoo about that freckled specs bastard ( something along the lines of if you're not talented why do you blame me for it) and Minjae's reaction made it obvious that he felt kinda inferior cuz he related.

but that's it, you can feel jealous toward someone you like or care about (/TДT) it's not the worst thing in the world, it's a common human reaction. Anyways, I'm happy that they both got to move on with their lives

if you feel jealousy or envy towards someone u love or care about ...u don't love/care for them...not really. Those two are mutually exclusive and not a common human reaction all. Idk and it's not a sin that minjae is dating his brother but they both are sleezebags for doing jinwoo like that

you probably still know very little about human nature... jealousy or envy speaks more about how you feel about yourself than how you feel about others. Jinwoo just got what he gave: nothing.

Jealous and petty. Imagine starting a fling with a guy just cause you are envious of his work, trying to be with his brother so he can make jinwoo jealous.
And jinwoo did not rape him, he was drunk, he almost attempted and stopped I'm pretty sure? Jinwoo was raped as far as I know.

Agreed that Minjae shouldn’t have been sleeping with Jinwoo for that long just because he liked his works. It’s on Jinwoo that he didn’t express his feelings tho and that relationship fizzled out as it would be expected to.
I’m not too mad about Jinwoo’s bro being in love with Minjae (Hyunwoo? His name was something with Hyun in the beginning I think so I’ll just use this name - sry if I got it wrong). Neither this story or the sequel show that the brothers were close (didn’t even know Jinwoo had a bro from the other story) so we don't have any sense of Hyunwoo even knowing that his brother loved Minjae, so I don’t consider that back stabbing (a previous comment mentioned that somewhere above).
As for the attempted rape - yea it was attempted rape. Proof of this is that Minjae had to physically fight Jinwoo to get away from the situation (he hit him several times and Jinwoo was constantly trying to touch his bare skin while kissing him and even marked him without his consent - I’m just super happy this universe had a neutralizing med; it’s traumatic and permanent when it’s happened in many other stories I’ve read). Yes Jinwoo was drunk, but that is never an excuse - it’s merely an explanation for his lack of restraint. That does not absolve from the action taken - something we should all know from reading omegaverse stories.
Jinwoo wasn’t raped by Minjae from what is present in these stories so far (his second time with Colton seemed questionable, but I was kind of having a hard time following the sequence of events from the first couple of chapters of the sequel so I’m not going to act like I know what really happened on that one). Jinwoo himself labeled their relationship as friends with benefits (‘for now’ as he put it but that could be interpreted in both the romantic ‘maybe we can become more’ way that he intended or the ‘but we’ll end it when we don’t feel like it anymore’ way that is a completely reasonable flow of logic to have in that situation since neither party declared affections).
TLDR: So yeah, while I don’t agree with Minjae’s reason for getting with Jinwoo and find it creepy that he was chill with getting with Hyunwoo when he knew him as Jinwoo’s kid brother, they are all consenting adults and that’s just the drama they fell into with themselves and it ended up hurting Jinwoo (as expected) and I just hope Minjae at least genuinely likes Hyunwoo (which I’m thinking he might actually) so they can be happy (since at least Jinwoo gets his happy ending later). And again, Jinwoo did attempt rape while drunk. Minjae had to physically attack him just to escape to the closet because he wouldn’t stop - please recognize this. Also Jinwoo has not been raped (unless the second time with Colton recall was that - doesn’t help that the pieces of that time were broken up in the story so I can’t really tell which night was the beginning of that - forgot to take notes of the shirts they wore).
