I feel like it's the opposite, I've been reading so many good ongoing Bl lately and it's so fun. I agree with you that the art is bit on a safe-ish side though, not bad, but just kind of plain
I can count the amount of "new"/ongoing series I'm keeping up with on one hand and only about half of those I actually enjoy and think they're worth 5☆. (Only waiting for them to complete to give the final rating). Imo quality has definitely tanked so that quantity can increase.
Hate to admit it but yes :( Authors nowadays prioritize following popular trends and market demands in order to earn profits rather than writing based on genuine passion and creativity （/TДT)/ and it's sad. This is why I stick to BL stories with novel version because they have actual substance and complexity which is more compelling (〜￣△￣)〜
hmm i feel like we think that way because most of our fav ones just ended, and the good ones are JUST starting out so they arent that popular yet?? personally I'm finding good ones everyday esp since so many of them are being adapted from novels
honestly my biggest complaint is how every art style now looks the same. Its not even abt the skill level, but they all have the same colours and line quality yk? I think its due to certain manhwas blowing up and influencing the rest but it saddens me alot bc I do miss unique styles. Id say its not rlly a problem w mangas but mostly manhwas
I think I agree, like after years of reading I could say I already "consumed" most of high quality completed ones but we cannot deny the fact that generic low plot/art works have actually increased in quantity too
Hey a genuine question, is it just me or does it feel like the general quality of BL content nowadays is decreasing a lot? Like I am not even complaining about toxicity, I love me a good complex toxic yaoi when its well-done, however feels to me like most of the new stuff these days is just ass? Like genuine bad works, with no flow and generic ass art etc. Might just be me tho, idk.
