i remember feeling this exact same way after reading Bastard 5 years ago, bittersweet and mixed feelings especially for the main antagonist. the way kim carnby humanizes these psycho murderers is so good its hard for you to not empathize with them, but not too much that we forget to condemn them for their crimes. yea they had rough upbringings but how they react to it also play a part in how they become.
also big fan of the creepy pig imagery all around :3 gave me the chills multiple times
