Iirc, he's just a pretender. While he is realted to the Duke, and was supposed to go to war, he sent someone else to the war in his name, and the person he sent was disposed of as soon as the army decided to return.

Ohh, so theyre fake knights? That means the dread guy isnt related to the truyde fam? For a moment there i got anxiety that dreads guy is the one related to the truyde’s and he was keeping that fact from karas. It would be sad if cptn commander got betrayed by dreads guy, they seem pretty close.
