I Psychoanalyzed Caesar

CH 82 (side story ch 30) feel so important to me because I think it emphasizes that Caesar was never taught how to treat someone he loves, and it highlights how deeply insecure Caesar feels in his relationship with Leewon. He doesn't know how to ask Leewon for what he needs/wants from him in their relationship, so he just takes it by force, because he doesn't trust that Leewon would freely give him what he wants. Caesar so clearly needs validation and reassurance, because he doesn't trust that he has Leewon's undivided loyalty and affection, to the extent that something as trivial as mentioning the names of other men upsets Caesar. Additionally, thinking back to Caesar's upbringing, he never received affection from his father, and grew up learning that trust can get you killed. He never saw an example of a healthy, loving relationship. He is extremely immature and ignorant in the matters of relationships, whether they are familial, friends, or romantic. Caesar doesn't even have friends, so it's no wonder he is at a complete loss for how to navigate a romantic relationship with Leewon. None of this context excuses his behavior, and it doesn't justify how he has treated Leewon, but it helps to understand him better. Leewon is so resilient and patient to be able to work through all of Caesar's issues and stay by his side, I could never be that strong lol.

I think you are so right. And i also think Lewoon understands this too and this is the reason he has forgiven Caesar’s brutality. It still angers me the author decided to write a certain forceful scene, we could have all done without the frking r&p3 scene.
