I don't know how to feel about thr confusion and rejection. If the rejection happened because their feelings weren't mutual, it would've sucked but hey people don't always reciprocate feelings. But being rejected by someone like this is even worse because fuck knows that I would never ever accept a confession from that person if I mustered up all my courage to confess and got rejected. Yikes. I get that MC has his own journey and past and all that but I will not pity him if he is about to go through an angst part where ML just acts detached towards him.
