Unfortunately in the book it’s implied that hae gets herpes on his mouth. Now I don’t think he has been violated anal but other things have happened. Jun is genuinely concerned with hae but hae is embarrassed. At this moment Jun isn’t interested in woo anymore. In fact he is disgusted with him because he lost all feelings. He realizes his friendship wasn’t real to woo as well. So he snaps out of it. He still internally homophobic and doesn’t want to be found out himself. With that being said he does have some kind of sympathies for hae. With that being said, he is still traumatized by what happened when he was brutally attacked from just helping hae and tending to wounds that hae came over to visit him.

Hae does like Jun. he has liked him since he and Jun spoke about books. But Jun was too busy being stuck on woo.

Here is the thing, Yohan doesn’t care about anything but Jun. Yohan already knew Hae was interested in Jun. Hae had like Jun since the day Jun talked to him about books. He went to the smoking area to get close to Jun. that is why Woo acts the way he does. He is immensely jealous. Yohan doesn’t like Hae because Hae likes Jun. so that is why he doesn’t care about Hae. As stated Yohan is only concerned with Jun. he has liked Jun since he first saw him. In the novel Yohan is mentioned to be neurodivergent with a genius IQ but his family is messed up. He has an older brother and younger sister. The younger sister says he is stupid because he is neurodivergent and manic and she has a much higher IQ than him. Even though they both are genius level. His family knows he is gay because at church he said all he wanted for Christmas was to have a boyfriend at church when asked while praying to God. This embarrassed the family. Yohan is self sufficient because he is in his room away from being near the family. They ignore him. So he is emotionally messed up and Jun is like his only thing for happiness. They are going to have a emotionally unstable relationship because of a bunch of misunderstandings. Very impulsive and also internalized homophobia. Here is the thing. Yohan doesn’t really care because he can hold his own. He gonna look like a butthole in hs because of what others say to Jun. there is manipulation and isolation but Yohan doesn’t physically hurt Jun after their fall out. The only time he goes manic when there is a misunderstanding of Jun and the family of Yohan. Yohan reads it as Jun mocking him since he is sensitive about his family because they treat him like crap. Jun wasn’t trying to do that but he thought because the dad likes Jun because he studies and also comes from a well respected family. The kids were raised to be in completion with one another. Yohan lost any place because he is gay, had neurodivergence and is manic. Yohan is going to redeem himself in a big way. A way that will permanently disfigure and disable him by protecting Jun.

Hae in the novel is better. He knows Yohan is into Jun. reads it as he and Jun are similar because he thinks Yohan is hurting Jun. but that isn’t true. Now the isolation part is part of Yohan being hurt and is insecure because he feels that Jun only cared about him because woo is out. He didn’t care at first but always feels that Jun loves woo. Which isn’t true. Plus woo is the type of guy Jun is attracted too. He always thought Yohan was pretty but he starts falling for him. He just awkward and even with himself not sexually aware. It’s a really nice novel. It is fitting on how impulsive, selfish and horrible at communication teenagers and young adults are. </spoiler>

So there is a point when they both are on the outs and one of the guys who is against Yohan wants to out him for being gay. He plots with Jun to get him on film by making a confession and he will record it in the end. So remember Jun has anger issues. You will see how he goes into extreme with Woo. Like he really messes him up. Yohan is way stronger than woo.

But Jun doesn’t want to ruin anyone’s life. So he tells Jun the whole plot. He beats up that classmate and ends up getting that classmates friend and the classmate to kiss. The two classmates get expelled because he gets them to fight too. Jun and Yohan have their first kiss because Jun is confused and he dips.

So anyway when they go to college Jun thinks it’s Yohan stalking him but it isn’t it’s that classmate. Yohan actually changes because he is heartbroken throughout the summer and by happenstance they share a dorm.

Anyway Jun calls Yohan to tell him to leave him alone and Yohan said he wasn’t the one looking for him. Then it dawns to him that it’s the classmate because he made a threat when he was kicked out that he will get him. So right when he is on the phone with Yohan the classmate shows up. Yohan is still on the other line. The classmate has a bottle of acid. He says Yohan really loves your face right. This will mess him up. While Jun is trying to talk him out. Yohan gets their right when the bottle is thrown and blocks it. The acid lands in his arm, hand and back. It’s so bad that he fainting on the floor. He has to go through months of heath and can’t use his hands and move around. He can’t use the three fingers on his dominate hand.

Yohan is seen by Jun that he does love him and they finally communicate more. When he is in the hospital he realizes Yohan wasn’t lying about his family because no one really visits him. Or stays the night. When he talks to Yohan dad the dad said he loves him but he isn’t the first in line and it’s hard to love someone like him. Yohan confronts the sister and she says it’s like that with all of us. But she is manipulative too and just has it out for him. She is a preteen so she is really angst too.

She is disgusted that he is gay as well.

They will be together and in a relationship. Jun is the complicated one because he never really expressed himself or even explored his sensuality so he doesn’t know how to handle his sex drive. Yohan face is going to be okay but he will be upset because he can’t pleasure Jun the way because he can’t move his fingers correctly. Oh and he limps for a bit but overcomes that. But he doesn’t like to get undressed because he is ashamed of his scares. But it ends up being something that turns on Jun because it’s like the thing that shows how he without any second thought protected him. But yeah Jun and Yohan end up being a good match. Yohan likes Jun cause he is pretty and a brat. He likes that.
