I’m a hardcore omegaverse preacher will a lot of preferences within the verse but I too have just come across sub/dom being my 2nd fav since to me just is a play in roles and is not that far from omegaverse but instead of pheromones it uses commands etc. Guideverse is one I have yet to really dive deep into and only scratched the surface of and from what I can tell it deals with the dynamic of support intimacy and the control to balance the espers power through guides. (More action base since it entails with hierarchy/ranks in combat)
Doseverse I have zero understanding of so I’m most curious about that and infact just discovered that it was a thing a few days ago! I’m currently reading a physiological yaoi that is doseverse and it is a bit odd since what they all have in common is the division of whatever group and who they either harm or unify one another.
This is the first I’ve heard about cakeverse lol so I guess a new verse unlocked

I guess where all these verses come into fruition is through the authors creativity to expand and top what came before and since all of these are au’s something so far from our current reality it’s fun to think and come up with scenarios/verses that seem impossible yet have that connection to what we’re already familiar with

I think its fun and funny sometimes. These verse all do the samething. Basically createa situation where one side is helpless and so and so plot point can happen and also make sense without having to set up like a crazy scenario. Eg how did the ml and mc meet? Well somebody was in heat and they did the deed js much easier than trying to make a scenario thats exciting but also believable
The best omegaverse i read was one i didnt even realize it was omegaverse until like 200/300 chapters in.
Basically the verse lets authors put their characters in specific situations that help move the plot. When i find more details abt these verse worlds or a new verse i love it. I makes me cackle like a mad person everytime

Doseverse (ドースバース) is inspired by Omegaverse. Instead of alphas, betas, and omegas, there are Drugs, Krankes, and Normals. Drugs are people who have the ability to cure those who are sick by coming in contact with them, although there may be side effects just like with medicine. Krankes are people born with a sickly body and are frequently ill. The only way to cure this is by entering into a relationship with a Drug called a bond which is started by the Kranke drinking the Drug's blood. However, if the Drug dies or they leave the relationship, the Kranke gets sick again and will eventually die. Normals can be healed by Drugs when sick, but extended contact with a Drug will lead to addiction and a Normal can even overdose from this. Normals will also get addicted if they drink a Drug's blood.
Omegaverse and guideverse originated from fanfics, so they've been around for a long long time. I enjoy both and I think there's a lot of space for authors to play around within those two -verses.
I'm not super into domverse, because that trope could easily be fulfilled by regular dom/sub stuff or omegaverse.

Not too many cakeverse manga/hwa/hua yet. The ones I have seen are basically omegaverse + cannibalism where cakes = omegas and forks = alphas. But the one I linked has a serial killer twist that I think makes it stand out above the others.

Everyone no hate or anything, let's just discuss this cause I've been wondering how these authors/mangas could make these weird shit but turn it into something "creative" (I don't know what to call it)
If you know what I'm talking about then, you guessed it: look the following...
●Omegaverse (omega,alpha,beta,enigma)
●Subverse (sub and dom)
●Guideverse (espers/awakener and guide)
And nowwww...
●Cakeverse (cake and fork)
●Doseverse (drugs and krankes)
For my take, I'm fine with the following three I mean, when I discovered BL I also landed on Omegaverse which was my first verse... it was fine and something... there's mating, alpha has to bite an omega, there's secondary genders, betas are normal peps, fated pairs and stuffs, then enigma can both impregnate alpha, omega, and beta. (I dunno that's what I can remember.)
at first I only read it on Mangas then BL manhwas also adapted the verse I read some of those too. Even Chinese manhua made their omegaverse BL stories which was fine. It felt like omegaverse became universal... every author just used it when they want to make like an uke giving birth and other reasons why they want to use it. Now, omegaverse became over-rated in BL, a lot has been using it, so Japanese mangakas were like, "Let's make something else" so then Subverse was created... When I first read a subverse manga I was like... wow... it felt like kind of similar to omegaverse with how bottoms are like in heat when top just triggered something to them... I can't explain it well, but you'll know it once you read it. But they are different. Just felt similar... cause both end up in a smex action.
Then, of course Korean authors also thought of their own verse... I don't know how long Guideverse has been going on, but I only found out about it when I saw one manhwa that's guideverse. Very different from the two verses... It's about awakeners and stuffs, there's espers who has powers and then they need a guide because their powers are stronger they need someone that will heal them when they're injured. Guide could either hold or kiss with the espers to heal them or what they call it "guidng"... But for the healing to be more effective, they can just BANG then seme will be all healed. I was like, that's something and interesting.
Then, as time goes by every BL used all three verses. But honestly, I haven't seen Korean Manhwa made their own Subverse and Japanese Mangas make their own Guideverse... or maybe it's just me, maybe there's one?? But if it ever happened, then it would likely become overrated like Omegaverse.
With that in mind, all three verses became a hit to us all readers. And authors just kept being more creative... and make nonsense either to make a sense or just stayed nonsense. Cause Japanese mangakas (BL) were like, let's make another verse, but this time, make it ridiculously creative....
BOOM!!! Cakeverse and Doseverse just came out of nowhere because of their cReATiVenESS
Honestly, I no longer know what's going on to the world???? What's next?? Horseverse??? Or unicorn??? Why can't they just stop making more verses for the love of world peace! I hope they just don't make or even add another verse....I mean, there's explanation about how dose and cake verse works so readers won't get lost along the the way of proceeding to read some shit.
