I fear I did not enjoy this. I read trashy one shots all the time but this one feels like it should just go straight to the bin, doesn’t offer even the tiniest bit of guilty pleasure.

Lol up until the call with the big posh prosecutor man, I got distracted by the fact that they weren’t even calling the cops or filing a missing person report for him, just straight up dissing the guy, AND he came?? My fire fizzled out

Them not "calling the cops" is actually more realistic than them doing it. As you've heard, he said he'd handle it, and it seems common for him to disappear to solve things. Missing people report often are for minors because they are made by the parents.

Not so much when he got gut punched and dragged out by thugs with baseball bats, in the middle of his wedding, in front of all these witnesses and people working as prosecutors and his so-called wife to be. A missing person report is totally justified here.
This could only mean that he was a mere puppet to these people, but that doesn’t make me feel any less disheartened.
Only if this was a longer series where it goes deeper into how this gangster will free him from being used or whatever. Give him freedom, power, will, all that. And then a redemption arc. This has potential for sure, just kinda shitty as a one shot lol.
