I've read this manhwa like 3 times, and I totally understand why I've given this a high rating on my first read. In my perspective this manhwa definitely wasn't meant to be perceived as some "dark romance" of sorts, but I feel like it intended to capture the psychological depth and impact of abuse on victims, in this case Minho. Reading this was hard to stomach down, not even because of the rape but slowly noticing Minho breaking down and losing his sense of self staying with Wookyung. He became an alcoholic to numb himself from the emotional pain of his situation, while always constantly blaming himself for being in it, as he believed that money could buy his freedom. Something I also noticed with Wookyung was how he'd always feel sorry for Minho and try to "help make his life at ease" just to end up repeating the abuse. Even towards the end he was just as selfish as in the beginning by not letting Minho go, to which I find the ending to be even more heartbreaking. The realism of this story actually hurts dawg, my heart goes out for the people stuck in toxic cycles of abuse
