how omegas are treated in alpha x alpha yaoi

does anyone else feel uncomfortable and drop a lot of alpha x alpha stories because of the way the main characters (and the author) talk about omegas and how they look down upon them?

it kinda feels like when it's "normal" yaoi and the female characters are treated extremely weird. both the omegas and the female characters are potrayed as like, a lesser being that's inherently evil, bratty, childish and stupid, idk. I don't know how to explain it, it just feels extremely iffy and a lot of readers feed into it too.

100% is so uncomfortable. In the first place omegaverse has become a parallel of how patriarchal society is in real life so even in alpha xomega stories you still get the same level of discrimination towards omegas
I straight drop more than half of all ABO stories I pick up bc of this, recently I've been into one of them being a beta bc then there's not much of that misogynistic bs

I didn't outright drop them, but I also noticed this in more than one story

exactly, the discriminations that omegas go through naturally feels like an extension of a patriarchal society. the week long "heat" cycles, being weaker, able to get pregnant, and potrayed as being both less smarter and talented than alphas...

it kinda pains me seeing how some yaoi readers treat omegas like how they usually talk about female characters in yaoi. and i especially hate a lot of alpha x alpha stories because the comments are sooooo weird, and the author also potrays the omegas so weirdly. and it's always in the premise of how one of the alpha characters doesn't like omegas/has some sort of trauma with them/finds them bratty or annoying, a.k.a not "good enough" for them. like why can't it just be that they naturally fell in love with another alpha and leave omegas alone

true but the verse is built on an inherently discriminatory system thats meant to resemble modern patriarchal systems so its not surprising to see readers feeding into these misogynistic ideas. the forks were in fact found in the kitchen
