Most readers want to justify the pain the mc is going through, but it's just a traumatized character addicted to s_x and becoming dependent to the mc, to the point of traumatizing the mc that took advantage of him in the past.
exactly, it’s an interesting take on cycles of abuse and doesn’t cut corners on how horrible everyone’s actions are. but its odd this entire plot got reduced to “he deserved it look at what he did!” when there was so much context explaining how raymond was clearly at his lowest and only sought out companionship from winter. yet winter hasn’t done his own healing and now sees abuse AS LOVE
