Honestly, this is the kind of miscommunication I wanna see. They’re not misunderstanding each other because they’re being willfully stupid or are just afraid to tell each other the truth when that’s objectively the easiest answer, they’re on different pages because the main character is presenting a false image of himself on purpose for personal gain. He has good reasons for not understanding why the ML was being like that (because oh my god who would just assume they wanted sex), he had good reasons for continuing the misunderstanding (because he was just doing his best to keep his job and his client happy while he evaluated the situation), and the main character is just so socially competent despite being blind to Lee Sihyun’s attraction that I completely empathize with his actions. Miscommunication as a trope is frustrating because it feels like a chore to watch people lack all common sense and choose to do the dumbest thing, but when you take that away and make that miscommunication believable? Suddenly it’s a really fun time. The characters aren’t actually stupid, they’re just being dumbasses, and that’s an important difference. I absolutely love how they were living out totally different genres up until the end of this season there, and I’m rooting for them to get on the same page someday!
