Because Jade likes Kao but she knew her feelings would never be reciprocated. She knew Kao liked Mint and so her goal was to try to make Kao happy and in the end forgetting about herself. On Mint's side, I don't know if she knows that Kao likes her, but she definitely knew Jade liked Kao and taunted her after Jade confronted her as we see in the new chapter.

I'm confused as to why jade hates mint. Mint knew jade liked kao so she let jade try to push them to be together? But Mint didn't want that but she just played along? Wtf
