IT'S FICTIONAL, YOU GUYS ARE SO OVERREACTING, WE'RE ALL ADULTS HERE LET'S BE CIVILISED AND THINK OVER WHAT RACISM IS.

The story takes place in probably 1600-1700s, WHICH IS PEAK TIME FOR RACISM, and in general, it's a story that had nothing to do with educating, so there's no reason be led astray by just a story.

And they weren't depicted as barbarians, they're depicted as warriors. The reactions, considering the setting, MAKE SENSE.

It's a recycled plot, I don't see any reason for anyone to be so offended. It's not harmful.

Idk about the commenter, but most people who aren’t brown never truly understand how some things may offend/trigger people, even if it’s just fiction

I know… it’s just so disheartening to see people in this day and age regurgitate the same rhetoric that has plagued poc for so long especially over something like this. Fictional stories can impact people or leave impressions, and while this isn’t the worst ever depiction of Arab and middle eastern culture it still is a harmful stereotype. As long as they can sleep at night then whatever I guess. (╯°Д °)╯╧╧

The legacies of racism still exist today and current media perpetuating harmful stereotypes ARE harmful and offensive.

People indirectly and directly are influenced by such stereotypes, which leads to further biases and discrimination underlined by racism.

If you aren't effected or don't understand, then step back and actively listen rather than arguing on such a sensitive and violent topic you're not versed on or don't seem to care about.

A lot of people feel as long as no slur is being said then it’s not really harmful, not realizing there are microagrressions that plague minds and creates that harmful rhetoric. I agree 100% and it’s sadenning so see people downplay others feelings. We should never speak on how others feel especially when it comes to microagressions /

It is written by a modern author actually, so it is right to take an offense. It's not even a story based on accurate history so there was no need for accuracy in 'racism' you know. It's better to reflect on your thinking smh.
