I'm confused as well. Like they said they were classmates during 1st year but then they weren't on the same page of preparing for exams. But then there's the graduation scene where Aoi's friends have a brooch on their uniforms so they technically graduated together ??? Same age???

I think those exams might be only for ppl that go to college and aoi isn't going to college he's only going to culinary school
