you really think the authors are going to care about your personal finances? Authors have been trying to take this site down for ages. This site is literally made to steal from authors. Plagiarism and illegally reading something are both stealing so the moral difference isn't really that large. We aren't making money from someone else's work but we are technically taking money from them instead. Stop trying to gain the moral high ground and using your finances as an excuse for not paying them. You just sound like a hypocrite.
I’m not trying to gain the moral high ground at all, I’m just trying to tell you not to assume things about people’s financial situations and decisions, I do spend money on manhwas to pay these authors but only when I’m sure there isn’t rape or an extremely toxic male lead. The fact that you just assumed I wasn’t spending any money at all just proves my point. My financial situation is not an excuse, it’s a justification. I can’t be lavishly spending money on comics I’m not even sure fit my moral standards.
And I do disagree with you either way. Some people really do not have the means to pay for any of these things, but you wanna know what they do? They share it. Do yk how many of my friends I have convinced to buy things like these? Directly buying the comics is NOT the only way to support the author. Clout on social media wether you like it or not is also a way to support the author since it makes the comic be more popular, and maybe even reach audiences that CAN afford to buy the webcomic weekly.
The moral difference IS that large. We sure as hell aren’t “taking” money from authors (gonna have to disagree with you on that) and we’re not gaining any for it. It’s definitely not fully innocent but I also don’t think you should be so adamantly against it
