Soul mates don't have to be romantic. It's more like a friendship that transcends regular ones. It's much more than friends but not to the point of romance
It’s funny because I view them as having a sibling type of relationship, but the author has made it clear that soulmates are in a separate category from family. BUT WHAT IS A SOULMATE?! I find it all very confusing.
