Really, wow. I didn't know, from where I'm from people don't really care, I'm asian but even my family told me when I study abroad find a black guy to marry. Personally, for me, I don't associate darker skinned ppl to be poor. Actually, I think the complete opposite. I associate them more with luxurious jewelry, rich culture, flavorful foods, vibrant clothes,... you know, abundance. But maybe im taking it from asian countries like India, Middle East Asia, and southeast Asia. So, this for me makes sense. But this is just me, maybe there are ppl out there who thinks what you guys think but not many would look at it that way

Btw, this is interesting and little sad too. From my knowledge, I didn't know we can even associate them that way, since we idolize westerners a lot and never pay attention much to their skin, but most get even more excited to meet dark skin ppl especially outside of asian.

I never thought of this, I’ve seen white skinned MLs that are also like this… I just thought that they drew some with dark skin because they found them appealing… i mean in Japan and Korea they rarely have dark skinned civilians, maybe they’re just curious and yeah found them appealing. Cos I remember a video of a chinese kid asking a black man innocently about his skin color
