This was literally my exact thought, like I understand that she is viewing it from how smoothly things are going now but how is it that she completely forgot not just what she went through but what all the other consorts went through as well?? Like one was literally trapped and was basically rotting alone with no one to talk to. The only reason the consorts had issues in the first place was because there is competition for the emperors affection to gain more power nd influence, clearly she doesn’t care as much now because she is the women with the most power right now but who’s to say how quickly that can change?
yesss like im not justifying the previous consorts actions, but we have to take into the socio-political system that forced this to be their only path. the FL's next step should be banishing this extremely abusive tradition, instead of upholding it simply bc she's the one in power now.
"the consort system isn't bad"??? how could you, a woman who has personally seen how much suffering it causes and how exploitative it is for other women say that?? maybe im overreating but taking in historical connotations aside i really can't handle how wattpad-y this story is anymore. The FL puts in 90% of the work and the ML/other men are basically background characters, yet of course we still have to uphold the system that keeps one man the most powerful while he rides on the achievements of the women he "owns"
