I think Jiwook is like that because he has nothing to hold on as his "mine" like his pride. If someone has nothing to protect aside from having his own convictions in life it will be very difficult for them to live in a cruel world. The only problem that arose about his so called pride is he also has inferiority complex. So instead looking at it as someone just wants to offer a genuine help, it became an insult for him. We know Seungeon even swallowed his own pride just to ask for help, but it will be different for Jiwook because he has nothing to offer in the end so accepting his help means there is a condition.

I just finished season 2 and things are becoming much clearer as you describe.. For the first time in a long while, I find myself hoping that the main characters in a manhwa never meet again.. A mix of events, luck, and the characters psychological wounds only make things more complicated.. I have no idea what to expect from the S3 or how it will end, I'll read it soon... but I truly feel sorry for all the years the characters lost.
It made me reflect on my own life and wonder can a single event completely turn my life upside down and leave me so miserable that death would seem like mercy... Sorry maybe I'm being a bit emotional but it's been a long time since a manhwa has affected me this deeply..

No need to apologize for having those emotions. It's normal to be affected on how the events turned out for each characters because in reality we all come to the point of our lives that we have regrets and we made decisions that caused much pain. Sometimes stories like this is just a reflection of our reality. Not to spoil, despite of what they went through—good or bad, we can all be redeemed from our pasts.
What has been taken shall be given.
What has been lost shall be found.

Your words have touched me in some way… I just finished the manhwa and I cried and cried and cried because of it..Can you recommend me a good manhwa like this? I mean a manhwa that takes your mind and emotions and plays with them..a realistic manhwa that is also full of hardships and brings you closer to the characters to the deepest level..
Lately, I’ve only been reading about sex, violence, and kidnapping, and I thought that was the best kind of manhwa. But after coming back to this one, my perspective completely changed..

Appreciate your comment! I'll recommend this because the uke tried to live his life again after being in a toxic relationship. He met new people who will eventually light up his mundane and sad life. However when an unfinished business suddenly came in front of him, he will try his best to face his own pain to heal.
https://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/hogu_hagyeongsu/ it's a BL by the way. It's a bit heavy so better prepare your mind and heart hahaha
Alright, S1 was good. I think Seung-eon was a good person despite his past. He really put aside his pride just for Jiwook even making that awful deal with his sister for his lover's sake. And he kept looking for him for four years even though he had assaulted him, which was truly terrible nd I won’t deny that.. But he also kept trying to pull him out of poverty! In the end, they decided to go to America together and build a better life.
On the other hand, Jiwook held onto his pride but then he eventually let go of it and entered a relationship with Seung-eon, and everything was going well. But after his father died soo why you idiot!! why wouldn’t you just swallow your pride and accept Seung-eon’s help from the start?? Not for love, but simply to be pragmatic and finish your studies like any normal person. Instead, you ran off to some miserable place and dropped out of school. And when Seung-eon found you again and once more offered to pay your debts and take you to America, you ran away again!!!
My god I really can’t agree with his decisions.. He should at least think about his future instead of clinging to his stupid pride...
(Please no spoilers for the other seasons let’s just discuss the first one!)
