"It's just fiction" sure, but anyone with half of a human heart should feel the extreme pain that Euihyun went through every time he got raped. There are so many parts of the story that are just so triggering and by the love of god I can not understand how anyone can take the matter of rape so lightly that they use it as a device to develop the characters' relationship and draw explicit porn scenes of it. I will admit I'm still enjoying the story though, I don't think because it had rape scenes that it turns the whole story bad. In fact I'm hooked the entire time and I can't put this down because I want to know what happens next. It's just that I can't overlook those scenes and pretend they didn't happen just because Taeju got a "redemption arc", rape is not something that can be undone, not by any number of apologies or an insane amount of begging, and I don't think it should be portrayed that way, or romanticized as character development. The story is still good (for me at least), just not without its flaws. And I'm def not trying to water it down by saying that, because rape-to-love is so much worse than say for example bad characterization. But just because I'm critizing this doesn't mean I hated it, or that the story is entirely trash. It doesn't have to be so black and white.
