I recently finished reading the novel and extras^^, spoilers but I’ll keep it bare bones cause idk how into detail I should go,

They use a training simulation of MC dying in front of ML to try to reawaken his powers
ML soon recovers his memories, but doesn’t remember his time with MC. ML doesn’t treat MC coldly like before but isn’t affectionate either, just kinda normally?
MC finds out they imprinted and soon does ML and tries to find a way to break it.
They find a way and MC goes Busan to try and break it, ML soon follows and accompanies him, soon it’s not about trying to break it anymore and they begin to get closer to each other.
we find out later the ML never hated MC but didn’t want to get any closer to him for fear that ML will also loose MC like he lost his parents
There’s more but I’ll leave it as that for now.

There’s a bit of angst later on, but they don’t break up or anything, it centres around ML’s anxiety of loosing MC, other than that it’s actually quite sweet, recommend the novel ^^
