I just noticed something last night. When Wooyeon is asked to list three classics so he can join the club, the first one he wrote down is 'Demian', presumably by Hermann Hesse.
The synopsis for Demian goes as follows: "Emil Sinclair is a troubled young outsider. But everything changes when he meets Max Demian, a mysterious and charismatic older student, who reveals the glittering possibilities that lie beyond conventional thinking and ordinary life. Under the intoxicating influence of his new mentor, Emil sets out on a journey of spiritual fulfilment, as he wrestles with the boundaries between illusion and truth, purity and corruption."
I couldn't help but think that this may've been a bit intentional?? With Wooyeon being representative of Emil, the young troubled student, and Dohyun being representative of Max, the intoxicating older mentor. Because after all, Demian is a pretty gay-coded book, with Hesse famously writing a ton of queer-coded books and characters. This might be a massive stretch on my part but I found it quite interesting because Demian is one of my favourite books of all time lol ^^
