You likely read the wrong translation, whoever translated it went completely off base with what actually happened.
If you read the official translation it shows the reason why the actual proposal didn’t work out, which is that another company had alr done a similar concept and the company was being accused of plagiarism. Whoever the unofficial translators were are actually insane for that wildly racist view of Islam, I myself was hella shocked seeing the difference

Studio Lico’s original publication was the islamophobic headlines. It was later retconned due to negative coverage and controversy amidst announcements that ‘Marry My Husband’ was getting a k-drama live action. The islamophobic headline was based off a real event that was carried out by the Taliban where they held south korean missionaries hostage, but the webtoon framed Muslims as the ones carrying it out. The differences between the old korean version and the old england version are not much different, other than that the english version used more extreme language. Please hold authors responsible for their racism instead of a translator who was likely just doing their job.

Damn I wasn’t aware of that I remember dropping the story before because of the wildly racist headlines thinking the author did that when they were first uploading it here, I ended up coming back and realizing the official translation was changed and the translator was wrong. Thanks for letting me know, this was a good story but defo ruined for me, i can’t possibly support and author who says shit like that and only fixes their mistake for PR
Stopped reading. Author is a racist bigot. Esp with everything happening in the world today, this is shit I need not consume.
