This story is kinda the reverse of the usual reincarnation trope
Which is: pushover/selfless/goody two shoes/white moonlight MV who were bullied/betrayed die and when they were given a second chance.. they plotted a revenge and in the process they become a selfish/self centered, shady cunning, conniving main character (blackened).
In this story the opposite happened.. MC used to be a selfish, ambitious, cunning, shady, conniving character who aim for personal glory/achievements.. but his life ended in tragedy.
So this second time he choose different route. He's still cunning but his goal have changed. MC no longer care about personal gain/achievement, he doesn't hesitate to sacrific himself for his main goal: eradicate the seeds of Black Swan.

People are mad he was about to sleep with the boss but our boy never said he was gonna be a better person in general but just better to the people who he deems important and his ways are still questionable showing his character didn't have a 180 just his priorities which is very realistic ╮(￣▽￣)╭
Yea I don't get why other commenters (not OP) are complaining. I mean MC and the boss were lovers in 1st life, and the boss was his sponsor/backer. Meanwhile in MC's point of view ML is a crush who were in a loving, highly matched relationship with another guide (the hobae/junior/younger woman). Of course in second life it's more logical to approach past lover for help rather than a distant crush (ML).
