Literallyyyy ur soo right. Like ik it's part of their culture so the least the king couldve done was keep it in his pants since he's raised his other son pretty much to be a king. Amd it's like he just grew tired of his wife cs she got old and moved on to a younger wife that shits weird as I'm so shocked the son even wanted to take care of that son of a bitch after he basically ditched his entire family js to be w that young wife.
Been a while since I've read this but I read the whole egg backstory and bruhhhhh. The King really fucked up, like yeah he could love who he wanted to but he then decided to have another kid without caring how that would affect his other son. Like this crown prince spent years and essentially his whole life preparing to be king, psychologically convincing himself that he didn't need freedom and never would because his father didn't seem to have plans for more kids. Only to be abandoned by everyone because there was a new heir and to essentially be told "Be happy! You get freedom!" when he doesn't know anything else! Then after his suicide attempt it seems that only his mother cares for him, cause where is his bitch father at?! Where is his father seeing the consequences of his freedom?! He's still by the side of his new lover and the new heir, leaving behind the old heir. It gets worse though because after losing the Queen and the lover (alongside the new heir) the son of a bitch still has the audacity to only care about them and the new heir. He doesn't mention a single time his other son who literally felt that without the position as crown prince, he had no reason to live. But it gets even worse, because the king has the nerve to say he wants his new child to experience freedom and to see the sky BUT the kid wouldn't be able to. As the new heir, the kid would be forbidden from leaving the palace, so they wouldn't be able to see freedom, UNLESS this bastard king had made the decision to change succession rules. In which case, he could've done it before, but he just wasn't compelled to do so. Only he would have for his new youngest child, and while yes it would have ensured Sulkin had the throne, that would still be shitty in its own way. Cause what do you mean you are willing to bend and break rules for this specific child but are willing to burden your other children?
The king truly fucked up. And he has the audacity to still not care about his son who tried to die after losing his position as heir. The king only sees the queen and lover dying as punishment, but his son? Was that not part of it? Did that not hurt him in the slightest? Even the egg not hatching was a punishment, but not Sulkin breaking mentally?! BUT what if the egg had hatched? Would the king actually get up and deal with that situation? Honestly, I got so pissed when everyone truly forgot about Sulkin, poor kid.
