Strongly agree. I know it's hard to emigrate, but I am learning two languages so if I have to chase my freedoms to other countries, I have many options. They both are readily employable in the fields they seem to have experience in. The world is enormous and liberal cities anywhere will welcome anyone who can pay their way.

And I agree with you, that's one way for our MCs to have freedom and be together. Emigrating is not easy, but I think living a lie (lying to yourself and to others until the day you die) is even harder.
Life comes with suffering either way, might as well face it with the one you truly love and who loves you back.
Chapter 7-Since they realized that they're still in love with each other, the right thing to do is to break up with their partners. That would be the best for all of them. Their partners also deserve someone who genuinely and wholly loves them. It's sad how in real life, this happens because lgbt people get pressured to conform, especially in conservative countries like ours.
