Im currently reading the novel and im on the chapter where Raymond escaped Bluebell and started a new life but got found by Simon againnn… this is so frustrating!
However, the thing that really got me was the way the author accurately showed how a person that experienced sexual abuse for a long period of time may act.
They might be sex repulsed but in Raymond’s case, he experienced hyper-sexuality due to the fact that he was forced to be a sexual object many times. In an attempt to cope, he started acting hyper sexual to regain his control believing that this time he had control of what was happening which is sad because he keeps getting sexualized and objectify unconsciously.
This is literally giving me trauma. The cruelty he had gone through was unbearable to read. If I could dive into this book, I 100% would and give these motherfuckers a good beating and bring asin and make them kneel on it with a wounded knees. My Raymond didn’t deserve all of the trauma these putanginas gave him. （/TДT)/
