Honestly I think it’s a 2 things: either Kwak is lying for reasons we don’t know yet or it has something to do with his backstory that shaped his ideals.
Because despite Kwak being against the mc, the end of the chapter suggests that Kwak might be one of the reasons for the revolution which contradicts his conversation with the mc. So I feel like it’s not as straightforward as it seems. I’m guessing there’s gonna be some sort of plot twist cause interestingly enough we didn’t get any inner monologue from Kwak this chapter even though we usually do.
Also, personally, I really like when the mc and ml have conflicting values. It’s more dynamic rather than the ml just blindly following the mc.
I prefer the Dr. MC. I knew it, the MC and the ML have no chemistry at all. The MC needs an idealist who would help him out with u covering the truth. ML is an ass and someone who would just follow the rules and his instinct without thinking too much about it. Ok, ML have your comfortable bed, but once the ML turned the MC in, then curse ML, that 's my point of no return. It's pointless to have Gwak/Kwak(?) as the current ML. Their values don't align.
