Good question.. I was thinking maybe cuz it’s less obvious if certain inmates are secretly observing jingi vs if the guards were to do it? Not that Jingi trusts anyone in the first place haha
Also my theory includes the group of inmates myeong-il gambles with bc they’ve been seen at times looking at jingi and observing his behavior (them saying Jingi was quieter than they thought in chapter 40 and to wait and see how Jingi will act)… which is super sus. Almost as if they were given info on him beforehand to form their initial stereotype/impression of jingi
Ahh I see. Maybe that's why they've lured Myeong-il with his weakness for gambling. Hopefully, Myeong-il doesn't spill anything about Jingi to those guys.

Uhmm, I just now noticed after re-reading. There's this mysterious new prisoner they were slightly showing the uniform number of in one of the panels??
He has glasses and was shown in the background then a close up of his uniform in the lines "When we went out last time...it was snowing... " and "They all went to get their haircut."
