Actually he his he can't leave the kingdom or stay out for too long without the king wanting to drag him back home. Now if there's a chapter where the king let's him leave without fear of consequences and he decides to come back. Then it can be argued that he loves him back, but until then I don't think so. Also this it just my observation I still very much love the story(づ￣ ³￣)づ
it could be argued, this man kept illic in captivity for 10 fucking years. Someone is bound to become dependent to their captor. illic has grown accustomed to being restricted of his freedom. in order to be released from the king's spell, he might have to be physically ripped away from him. Even then the king would blame him for being taken away from him, and probably rape him.
