I thought at first they were all different entities merging into one body to reach godhood, but it doesn't seem to be the case??

my guess is that: jerk mugo is his base self. sir mugo is his higher, enlightened self, and monster mugo is his base, animalistic desires. And from that flashback, I'm gonna guess the MC is a reincarnation of his previous lover. Maybe he was either a human or a spirit, and after his lover was killed he became a god.

That actually such a good theory. But I'm still confused why the sacrifice can only be from the uke's family, like what's their beef, and how get rid of the curse of god's hunger

Oh wow your brain! That means when mugo died (he was bleeding so much so I assumed that) in that glimpse of memory, he's the jerk mugo right?

My guess is that the main family has a hand in sealing Mugo in the past

Yeah, like maybe the family sacrificed his lover in the past in as a way to turn him into a god? And the need for constant sacrifices is his way of cursing/punishing the family for hurting his lover? idk.
