Well we can’t expect him to recognize someone he hasn’t seen in like 10+ years from the start and he is only relying on his old memories to search for someone, and yeah his words were really just empty hope. And I hated him too when I first read this but I guess I can’t hate him too much if everyone kept lying to him just to get some cash, breaking his ambition.

You said what ever happen you will recognize him, you did not only mistook someone else for him(who is fugly btw) you didnt even recognized him...
