Freedom my ass

There is nothing wrong with falling out of love and falling in love with another person but what the king did was just f*** cheating. Freedom doesn’t mean hurt the people around you. Did you at least try to be there for your family or communicated something geez. Get the f*** up and fix the mess you made and be there for the people who are left. Or maybe I’m to harsh

Sorry had to get it out

You do realize that it all but states that at the very least, the King is able to have concubines and/or practice polygamy, right? Since the king of the birdmen has the freedom to love anyone they want to, he can’t actually cheat on anyone. Cheating was never a crime the king can be guilty of in this case.

What the king IS guilty of is negligence of responsibility and lack of foresight. He fell in love with another woman, as is his right. But he failed the queen and the previous crown prince.

The should have encouraged the former prince to use his royal training to find freedom in his own way. He should have prepared the Queen that there could be a new crown prince and to ask her to ensure his previous child would be prepared for the shock. Heck, he could have out right changed the law that dictated the youngest be the successor. But he failed to do anything. And in doing so, he lost everything he had.

So in short, the issues that occurred happened because the king took his freedom to love whoever he wanted to for granted. Which is the point of the backstory. Freedom without responsibility results in pain.

Right. At the very least, he should have abdicated the throne to his heir before he became physically involved with another person so succession wasn't such a big issue. Yeah, he might have been a bit young to take over but it was what he was raised for and it caused so many issues to hear a very much younger sibling was going to take that away.

There are cultures where the youngest son inherits the house but it is an entirely different matter. At least in that aspect, it is expected for the youngest to take care of his parents in their old age and the older siblings have the advantage of time to make their own way before that transition happens. But I don't know if those same cultures would do the same thing with such a large age gap.

Yes I know it’s technically not cheating since he is allowed to have a concubine. I guess it was just my view and cultural differences that made me so pissed off at this situation.. (nothing wrong with polygamy if everyone agrees to it of course.)

And yeah I agree with everything you said, he could have done so much and taking responsibility q_q

He was allowed to have his freedom to fall in love with who ever he wants. He was understood by his queen as it was their culture. The only foresight he have is he neglected his previous family. Could have at least establish the crown prince as the sole heir. A mother would do everything to protect his children happiness if it means hurting someone. In the end the story is all about the egg they all wanted to hatch so it can have its own freedom. But what about the abandon crown prince? The other siblings? Marteva? They have not found their own freedom too and stuck up to their mothers Sin and dying father who I think does not truly love and cared for them as a family.
