i’ve reread this maybe 3 or 4 times already and everytime i read, yukimi’s story always makes me cry. the feeling of not knowing where u belong, to feel like an outsider no matter where u are, but then realizing that there are those around u that genuinely love and care for u…. her story w her parents, friends, and her lovable little sister were so real and i think so beautifully portrayed. i loved every moment of it.

yukimi is a kind person at heart, to know where her own faults lie and to be patient with those who hurt her. i’m specifically referring to that shunya ex-bf of hers. yukimi better than me bc i would’ve cussed that mf out for kissing his ex and then trying to act like nothing happened. albeit from her side, it was reasonable why she didn’t lash out at him afterwards bc she felt like she was never fully honest, but i could never be civil w a person who went behind my back when things were looking up for them as a couple. they were in the process of getting closer.

i hated tetsu’s and satchi’s relationship, purely bc of the age gap and how vulnerable they both seemingly were. however, i do think they would’ve been cute if she wasn’t in her twenties. the way i see their relationship is kinda like inuyasha’s lingering feelings of love and guilt towards kikyo (but he was able to find a new love and beginning w kagome). tetsu was unable to be w satchi in her final moments and thus took it upon himself to care for and love the child she left behind, even if he knew there was a chance raichi wasn’t actually his blood. i think their story could’ve been rather pure but i can’t rly take it that way bc of that age gap… two people at very different points in their life should not have been in that kind of relationship.

and i do see that a lot of people found it very upsetting that tetsu proposed to yukimi while asking satchi for permission, and i do wish it happened differently but i also view it as a sort of closure type of thing. it’s not rly a situation where u can fully let go of someone bc they’ve passed, but acknowledge that they were once the most important person in ur life but now there’s someone new.

yukimi is definitely not a rebound and not a replacement, and with relationships i feel like ur love for the other person can keep growing the more time u spend with one another. i’d like to think that yukimi has very much become a very irreplaceable person for tetsu, much more than satchi was to him in the past.

it’s late i haven’t slept and i’m in my feels. this was kinda long but if anyone’s read up to this far, thanks lol
