Because he holds power over their livelihood. He's the employer of her uncle who she doesn't want to cause any trouble to as well as live on their property rent free. Of course I would follow him too if I know that if he dismisses us, uncle and her (more so her) have no where to go. Also remember she has a very strong fear of abandonment.
