Just started reading for the high rating, is the rape in the second chapter ever going to be addressed or am I suppose to just forget about it?

It’s very much often referred back to, I can’t remember exactly if it’s word for word said but I do believe the seme says or think he regrets this actions, though that does not make it ok. Also yes he had bitten the uses ear which is given back to him later. So no it’s not ignored and it’s not a very toxic story, in my personal experience, either!

don't worry it gets addressed and honestly I think this is one of the very few authors (in my opinion) that actually wrote a character that genuinely changed after taking responsibility for their actions.

I think what iipockyii said in another comment was a good explanation talking about the ML:

"The author manages to keep the aspects of his personality that was interesting all while acknowledging his wrong doings and improving his personality for the better. I won’t say too much because I don’t want to spoil it, but this was one of the few instances where instead of the Male lead being like “oh sorry take me back, let me do something nice”, we actually got a proper understanding of what he did wrong, him trying to change, and what he will continue to do in the future. Again I’ll try not to spoil it, but his treatment of the MC in the later half of the story was very cute and endearing. He is whipped, and it goes beyond just lust or convince. I really enjoy their current dynamic and this is coming from someone who HATESSS majority of red flag tops"
