I Finally remembered to come back to this and checkout the raws. I’m really upset, not at the author, they can do whatever they want idc but I’m mad at the characters. They failed Rowe every step of the way.
For starters he should’ve never been on the case in the first place. He has ptsd, lost the only person in his life he could rely on and most importantly HES A CIVILIAN. He’s not a cop, he shouldn’t have been there. Plus even if he was a cop, he’s too close to a case. You’re not allowed to be on cases involving family members or other close ties to victims because your emotions can cause problems. And remember when I said he lost the only person he had to rely on? Wtf did they think was going to happen. You can’t throw a vulnerable person at someone and expect them not to get attached.
Which brings me to my next point. They knew he was getting too close to Adrian and instead of making him pull back a little or monitor him more, THEY IGNORED HIM! They ignored how attached he was getting and ignored the information he was feeding them because it didn’t match what they found themselves. Call me crazy but it seems really stupid to not at least look into the info from the person ass deep in the operation. The person who is right next to the person you are trying to CATCH and who would most likely have the best and most condemning information.
Everyone tried to do the right thing too late. Flynn realized he should properly help too late. The police took forever to look into the info he sent and tried to intervene too late.
And lastly, as I mentioned earlier, he has ptsd from his past. He was vulnerable from the start and never got the proper care he needed. Then he was chunked into this failed operation to save his sister which is not good for him mentally. And when he goes to the island he is tortured and tormented for who knows how long and what do you know? He still doesn’t get the help he needs, he’s just sent home. He needed professional help. And Shocker he goes crawling back to the person he heavily relied on in the absence of his sister. Unhealthy attachment plus attachment due being drugged out of his mind everyday equals the ending we got. Rowe leaves home to go back to Adrian with no way to contact him or know where he went. As shocking as it was, every piece fit together like a puzzle in the end. He was failed from the very beginning.
