The novel is, and the rape theme will be recurrent in webtoon too no matter how hard they try to censor it to PG13. So in the end they received a lot of complaints towards vanji (even though this is not her story) about romanticizing pedophilia, rape, psychopathy, etc. for children, that they ultimately had to make it 18+.

There is no pedophilia or what your considered “r*pe” in the novel. What are you talking about?
Yeah but webtoon usually turns 18+ novellas into 15+ and this was heading that way too (basically toning the adults themes down and keeping them "implied" than showing smut). This webtoon was no exception, but ultimately they had to reconsider.

The meaning of words has changed over the decades and what you may consider “r*pe” in the novel, based on the time and settings of the novel was not considered r*pe. Leyla expressed many thoughts in the novel and not once did she mentioned that she was violated sexually. Yes she was coerced but as an adult, she made the choice and accepted Matthias terms and conditions. She repeatedly brought herself to him. I was also disgusted with Matthias character until I read chapter 94 and and the chapter including the conversation between Leyla and Ritter and concluded that Leyla is not a victim. She should be held accountable also, not just Matthias. Grown women accepting a transaction and concocting accusations of r*pe because they want to be held accountable smdh. Anyways I m not wasting my time to fight with anyone on Naver.
